After looking at the millions of food blogs out there and thanks to the demand of friends and my mum, here I am, trying again to be bothered with blogging. I'm a terrible blogger! I am too lazy (and hungry) to take photos of the stuff I make, but I will try my darndest to write an entry every day. EVERY DAY. Even if that means tracking down the stuff I've made in the past and writing entries for it.
This week's is going to be especially interesting because J, E, S & I have decided to do no-carb. Because of the important January birthdays, we postponed our New Year's resolutions to Monday, January 16. I am convinced that I will be able to prove Atkins wrong - that, in fact, even if I follow his diet to the T I will not lose weight based on the sheer mass of the stuff that I eat.
We've had: steak w/ green bean and mushroom salad, Korean beef/radish soup, chicken and green beans with black bean sauce, lots of pork belly, Mexican spiced chicken with guacamole... and the list goes on. Tomorrow, broccoli cheddar soup with the heaps of broccoli I bought today. Thus far, I am right - I haven't lost any weight at all... but I also realized I am eating WAY too many vegetables for Mr. Atkins's liking. Must have bacon with a side of bacon for brekkie tomorrow.
I love your blog. I prefer the name Spero or Amelia. Acorn gives an impression of something dry and bitter.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I like both of those names too but the overwhelming response has been to keep it sweet acorn! The drawings that went with spero and amelia were so cute, too...
